43rd Annual Larry Noel Greenbelt 15K

This is the RRCA Maryland State Championship and part of the Maryland RRCA Series. The race is held in conjunction with the Greenbelt Labor Day Festival and honors Larry Noel, a past President and member of the DCRRC Hall of Fame. Special thanks to the many volunteers who made this possible, particularly: Joe Broderick, Permits; Pat Brown, Water Stops; Chuck Evans, Finish Line; Shalom Fisher, 3K; Earl Tolley, Registration; Pud Weaver, radio network; the Greenbelt Recreation Dept; the Greenbelt Coop Store; and the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center.
Baird and Poulos, third and fourth place finishers from last year, came back to claim $100 and $50 checks in the open division. Rob Walker received a $25 for third place. Seventh place open finisher last year, Doug Kuderna, turned 40 and claimed the $50 check for top master male. Patsy Long was top woman and received $100. The Howard County Striders claimed their share of awards. Second woman was Vicki Lang who won $50. Her husband won the 30-39 division, and another HCS runner, Deborah Barnell was top master woman, winning $50. Susan Volpe won $25 as the third woman.
