With cherry blossoms still everywhere, and tourists cheering like spectators, first-time race director Asha did a dandy job whistling the start, calling out times, and handing out pencils and cards. Peter Blank sorted the cards, Jay Wind handed out eccentric little prizes, and a splendid time was had by all.
Joseph Daniels outkicked Ted Poulos by 7 seconds for a win in 9:43, while Janel Kiley took an early lead among the women and held on strong to finish first female in 11:02.
